Mary Coussons-Read, Ph.D. is a Professor Psychology at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), the Chair of the University of Colorado System Faculty Council, and the Treasurer for the Society of Psychologists in Leadership and the Foundation for the Advancement of Psychologists in Management. She is has extensive experience in higher education both as a faculty and administrative leader, having served in the roles of Provost, Department Chair, Associate Dean, Associate Vice Chancellor, and Faculty Assembly President. Coussons-Read received her PhD in Psychology and Neurobiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed postdoctoral training in Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Brenda Huber, PhD, ABPP

Brenda Huber, PhD, ABPP, transitioned from her position as Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Rush University Medical Center and Executive Director of Rush NeuroBehavioral Center in spring 2022 to build a portfolio career under her umbrella business, Doc B, PLLC. Previously she served as half-time Director of the Psychological Services Center at Illinois State University and half-time Training Director of the Illinois School Psychology Internship Consortium, one of the largest APA accredited programs in the country. She began her career as a middle school language arts and communications teacher. After acquiring a master's degree in counseling from Purdue University, she worked in therapeutic foster care before returning to graduate school to study the relationship between attachment organization, emotion regulation, and social-information processing. Having served as a school psychologist and an outpatient therapist, she is currently providing systems-consultation to communities engaging in collaborative and innovative solutions to children's mental health needs. Her interests include relationship-oriented and empowering interventions for children and families, children's mental health/educational equity, and exploring avenues by which research and practice can influence public policy.



Bradley Brummel, PhD

Dr. Bradley Brummel is an Associate Professor of Industrial-Organizational Psychology at The University of Houston. He received his PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Brad is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and the Society for Psychologists in Management (SPL). He is a former Associate Editor of Journal of Managerial Psychology and serves on the editorial boards of Personnel Assessment and Decisions and Journal of Research in Personality. Brad conducts research on organizational training and development focusing on coaching and simulation-based delivery methods for professional development, ethics, and cyber security content areas. He also conducts research on employee engagement, mindfulness, and personality development through work experiences. This work has been published in a variety of journals including Journal of Management, Journal of Business and Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Human Relations. Brad works with clients as an executive coach and on other projects around employee engagement and organizational culture through his company, Convalo LLC. Leesa Duckworth, PhD

Dr. Leesa Duckworth is and Senior National Security Specialist, focused on international arms control and nuclear nonproliferation at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). With over 33 years of experience in national Security, Dr. Duckworth’s toolbox of skills and expertise includes nuclear weapons production and maintenance operations as well as leading nonproliferation programs, internship programs and other technical and human development initiatives. Today, her position holds a specific emphasis on arms control and nuclear nonproliferation, as she serves as a U.S. expert in a number of multinational forums. In addition to her purely technical work, Dr. Duckworth is also an Industrial and Organizational (I/O) Psychologist specializing in process and human performance optimization. Using this background, she has developed and deployed an agile, strategic career development methodology utilized for the exploration and optimization of individuals, groups, teams, and organizations. To date, Dr. Duckworth has mapped more than 700 individuals through her process, as well as helping several groups and teams and organizations explore and redefine what it means to be both successful, and leverage and grow their staff’s talents and capabilities. 

As collateral roles, Dr. Duckworth has also served as the line manager and has been a University Relationship Manager for the NNSA Graduate Fellowship Program (NGFP) for more than 9 years. Prior to her civilian career, she also served 6 years in the United States Navy. Dr. Duckworth holds both an MS and Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, a BSOE in Human Services/Psychology with a minor in Industrial Safety, and a dual MS in Organizational Leadership/Organizational Management. She is also pursuing an MS in Project Management that should be completed in 2024. In 2022, Dr. Duckworth and a colleague presented a new approach to reducing the risk of insider threat through an organizational awareness and staff development model. This model was presented to the DoD C-Int Symposium in September 2021, and subsequently explained their approach to an international audience on a panel at the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management (INMM) summer conference in 2022, which garnered accolades and quotes from the NNSA.



Sarah Early, PsyD

Sarah Early, PsyD has served as the Executive Director of Colorado Physician Health Program (CPHP) since 2002. CPHP is a non-profit, independent peer assistance organization whose mission is to promote the health and well-being of physicians and physician assistants through evaluation, treatment referral, support, education and research. Dr. Early is responsible for the administration and management of corporate and program operations. She is proud to be contributing to CPHP’s work because healthy doctors give better care! 

Dr. Early is a member of the American Psychological Association, Federation of State Physician Health Programs, and the Society of Psychologists in Leadership. Dazzle Africa is the non-profit charity about which Dr. Early is most passionate. She is a co-founder and Board Director, whose mission is to partner with locally based organizations in Zambia to provide effective programs in education, conservation, and community development. She enjoys sharing the beauty and magic of Africa by hosting philanthropic safaris for Dazzle Africa.


Chamarlyn Fairley, PhD

Dr. Chamarlyn Fairley currently serves as a Senior Organization Development Psychologist at the National Center for Organizational Development (NCOD) at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a consultant her goals are aimed at improving the engagement and effectiveness of executive leadership teams throughout VA, who in turn drive the engagement of employees within their facility/organization thus increasing the positive impace of VA services to Veterans. In the role of Consultant, Dr. Fairley serves as a Consultant to Executive Leadership Teams in the VA, as they focus on team dynamis, individual leadership goals, and leading their varied organizations.

Prior to coming to NCOD, Dr. Fairley served as the Assistant Director of Mental Health at the WJB Dorn Veterans Administration Medical Center in Columbia, SC. Dr. Fairley also served in other leadership roles while at Dorn VAMC including, Program Manager for Mental Health, Military Sexual Trauma Coordinator and as an establishing member of Psychology Internship Program.

Dr. Fairley’s professional interests have been focused in the areas of Trauma Focused Therapy, Leadership Development, and Diversity Equity and Inclusion.

Rose Sokol, PhD

Rose Sokol, PhD, is the Journal, Book, and Video Publisher at the American Psychological Association. Dr. Sokol-Chang obtained her PhD in social psychology from Clark University and has published with Oxford University Press and with the APA. Dr. Sokol-Chang is a founding member of the Feminist Evolutionary Perspectives Society (FEPS), Past-President of the NorthEastern Evolutionary Psychology Society (NEEPS), and a co-founder and past editor-in-chief of its affiliate Evolutionary Behavioral Sciences. Rachel Wernicke, Ph.D

Dr. Rachel Wernicke is a clinical and consulting psychologist, leader in higher education, leadership coach, and TEDx speaker. She completed her doctorate in psychology at American University and her clinical training at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Her longstanding passion for leader development began when she served as an Army officer early in her career. Since that time, she has held a number of leadership positions in mental health and higher education settings, including her current role as an Associate Dean and Chief Mental Health Officer at George Mason University. In this role, she provides strategic oversight for health, well-being, and disability-related student support units and focuses on implementing initiatives related to inclusive and equitable cultures of health and well-being.  Rachel provides talks within and outside of her organization on themes related to mental health in the workplace including in her recent TEDx talk, Mental Health in the New Normal.  She currently serves on the advisory board for Reclaim Justice Movement, a non-profit organization focused on transformative and restorative justice.
