The toughest conversations most leaders face aren’t with their bosses, their teams, or their clients. They’re with themselves. Every day we battle a flood of repetitive, self-critical thoughts that quietly shape how we lead.

This session introduces the Monster vs. Maverick archetypes, a practical framework, as well as the Catch, Confront, Change method based on cognitive behavioral therapy to help leaders face their inner critics with courage and reframe them into something more grounded and true. Drawing on psychology, neuroscience, and lived experiences from the field, we’ll explore how leaders can model healthier self-talk, not just for themselves but for the teams who are watching them. Participants will leave with practical tools that will help them step into hard moments with confidence and authenticity.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Recognize their negative self-talk the moment it happens

  2. Confront their negative self-talk to establish its veracity

  3. Reframe their negative self-talk to be something more accurate and useful
