Academic medicine is navigating unprecedented uncertainty and complexity, intensified by multiple factors, including health system mergers and national challenges. This session addresses adaptive challenges and profound cultural shifts by introducing a framework for wellness-centered leadership that includes caring for people, cultivating relationships, and inspiring change. Several programs and strategies with a relational leadership focus (e.g., cohort-based faculty program to reduce foster well-being and build community, faculty listening circles, education for leaders on basic coaching principles) will be highlighted from ongoing efforts in academic medicine. Drawing from relational leadership research and recent scholarship, the session highlights the importance of fostering well-being, resilience, and trust through relationship-focused approaches, equipping leaders to support thriving teams in evolving healthcare environments.
